The Point

“One Trick Ponies” – Kurt Vile
As anyone who’s owned one can attest, there’s easier things than raising a bird dog. Trying to mold 50 lbs of pure energy, unbridled curiosity and stubborn will into something remotely manageable takes effort. Bird dog development never travels in a straight line and progress only comes in fits and starts.
But in a world of unbridled convenience, it’s good to know that some things still require time and effort.
There’s a thousand or so less challenging dogs, those where some kibble, a leashed walk and a belly rub is all they will ever need.
But I’m in search of something more than a pet, I’m looking for a partner.
It’s not easy, but that’s sort of the point.
Yep.
