STILL OUT THERE
“So Much” – Timber Timbre
There are places out there still relatively untouched.
Places where the scars of industry and civilization are few. Places beyond the reach of cell reception and wi-fi access. Places where the only pathways are riverbanks and game-trails. Places of big mountain vistas and wildflower scented air. Places of cold clear waters, where wild native fish still swim just as they have for thousand of years.
Places where we can try to regain a certain state of grace. Places for us to walk and see and fish and swim and breathe.
These places are dwindling steadily but they’re still out there, in all their glory
. . . you just can’t see them from the road.
Those are the best of places.
No doubt. It’s good to be somewhere where you’re able to strip down under the hot July sun and go for a swim, with only the grizzlies to take notice of your bright white ass.
Amen to that Blaine. Good words, thank you.
Thanks EJ.
They are disappearing quickly east of the Mississippi, USA. Nice to see someone living the good life.
I love it. I have been struggling for a few years now about cutting my ties with the only life I have ever known here in the east and starting over where there is still elbow room. You only live once and at 40 I think it may be time I start living!
Well put!
and this is why my soul craves the way outdoors
