Northern Lights Underwater
A fish of the North, swimming in the peat stained streams of the muskeg and the crystal clear waters of the mountains.
Irridescent sides, colours shifting in the sunlight. Purple, bronze and pink hued cheeks. All those ornate markings. That distinctive dorsal fin, all indigo and crimson with sea-green spots.
A beautiful fish of beautiful places.
And as you cradle one just before releasing them back into the water, the current washing over them, that dorsal fin swaying back and forth in the river. Its almost as though you’re holding the northern lights in your hands.
